We recognise that children may have different needs at different points in their school journey. We work closely with children, families and external professionals to identify needs, provide appropriate support and enable every child to make progress and participate fully in school life. 

Who should I speak to if I have concerns about my child? 

If you have concerns about your child's learning, progress or development, your child's class teacher is usually the best person to speak to initially.

The role of our SENDCo: 

Our SENDCo works closely with children, families, teachers, support staff and external professionals to coordinate provision for pupils with SEND across the school. 

This includes: 

• Supporting the identification of children's additional needs 
• Working with teachers and support staff to plan appropriate support and provision 
• Monitoring the progress of pupils with SEND
• Ensuring parents and carers are involved and kept informed about their child's support and progress
• Maintaining the school's SEND register and appropriate records. 
• Liaising with external professionals and services, such as Speech and Language Therapy and Educational Psychology 
• Providing advice, guidance and support to staff to help pupils with SEND achieve the best possible outcomes 
• Supporting children and families through transitions and planning for their next steps
