Nursery Deputy Manager

• Position: Deputy Nursery Manager
• Contract : Fixed term until October 2027
• Salary: Grade 13 £26,847 - £29,071 per year depending on experience
• Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week

We are a thriving nursery within the beautiful, rural town of Wiveliscombe, near Taunton. The Paddocks Nursery is proud to be part of Wiveliscombe Primary School.

We require a Nursery Deputy Manager who is passionate about childcare, can inspire and support a team, whilst having the autonomy to lead and work with the primary school to ensure consistency and to share best practice.

The Paddocks Nursery is an established provider of childcare with a ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement in 2024. We provide a calm, purposeful and innovative environment; which includes beautiful grounds and a modern spacious building.

We are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for providing high quality childcare.

You must have excellent knowledge of the EYFS and experience as a key worker. It would be desirable to have experience as a Supervisor/Room Lead along with the skills to manage a team effectively.

Nursery Practitioner

• Position: Nursery Practitioner
• Starting Salary: Grade 15.3 £25,614 per year
• Hours: 37 hours per week full time
• Contract: Fixed term for a year

We require a member of staff to work within our enthusiastic nursery team at Paddocks Nursery and Pre-School which is part of Wiveliscombe Primary School. The Paddocks Nursery provides childcare for ages 0-5 years and is an all year round provision.

The successful candidate will be:

• Flexible between Monday to Friday and the hours of 8am-6pm.
• Have knowledge of being a key person and building your children’s learning and development through their next steps and interests to further their learning.
• An excellent member of our team, following instructions and carrying out duties to the highest level possible.
• Able to communicate effectively with children and their families both verbally and in writing in order to understand the children’s individual characteristics, needs and interests, including family background, cultural beliefs and any special educational needs.

Qualifications: Minimum level 2 in Early years, Level 3 childcare qualification is desirable. Also desirable to have an up to date Paediatric First Aid Training.

Learning Support Assistant

Hours: 31.25 per week, term-time only

Salary: £18,050 Grade 15.3 (FTE Salary is £25,614)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, patient and caring person to work in a full time LSA role. This is a fixed term role until 31st August 2027, but with the possibility of being extended for the academic year 2027-28.

This position is suitable for someone who has:

• Recent and relevant experience of working within a classroom environment
• A genuinely enthusiastic nature
• Ability to build good working relationships with others
• Ability to apply appropriate behaviour management techniques to enable children to reach their full potential
