Uniform Information
We hope that all children will be appropriately dressed according to the season and the weather. Please mark all your child’s clothing and check regularly to make sure the name has not faded.
Standard School Uniform
At Wiveliscombe Primary School, uniform is required. We believe school uniform helps develop a child’s school identity and helps us to look smart. We do not wish your child to wear jewellery in school. However, any child who has pierced ears may wear sleepers or studs but we strongly advise that these be removed for P.E, games and swimming to avoid the possibility of the item becoming caught and causing an injury to the wearer or another child.
All children are expected to wear the school uniform, as detailed below, and that their dress, including hair style, is appropriate to the school environment. Pattern or colour applied to hair is not appropriate. With regards to safety, all pupils with shoulder length hair or longer should have it tied up.
The school uniform is as follows:
- School sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
- Plain white blouse/shirt or polo shirt
- Grey/black tailored skirt or trousers
- Dark school shoes (no trainers except for outdoor games)
- White, grey or black socks or tights
- Children should bring a waterproof coat and appropriate weather clothes (e.g. hat, gloves) to school each day
Summer Term Uniform:
- Green and white dress or grey/black tailored shorts (please note leggings or cycling shorts should not be worn)
- Summer sandals which must have backs (crocs are not suitable)
- Children should not wear jewellery (stud earrings only) or high heeled shoes to school.
- Children should bring suitable weather protection e.g. a waterproof coat/ sun protection
PE and Sport
It is essential that children have the correct clothing for PE and sport.
- Plimsolls or trainers for outdoor games
- P E shirts need to be the same colour as the child’s house team:
- Buzzards: red
- Herons: blue
- Magpies: green
- Skylarks: yellow
- Dark shorts
- A long sleeved sweatshirt and dark tracksuit trousers for outdoor games (there should be no logos or text on the t-shirt, tracksuit or sweatshirt)
Swimming
- Girls: one piece swimsuit
- Boys: swimming shorts
